If you are a nurturing teacher who has experience with Autism and is looking for a new challenge, please read on!

We are working with a special school based in Enfield; they cater to children aged 5 - 16 with social, emotional, and mental health needs and/or Autism, providing a safe and nurturing learning environment. The school are seeking an experienced and passionate teacher for their ASD class, teaching a class of 6 students in years 1,2 & 3 who have Autism and some who are non-verbal.

Main Duties:

  • To plan lessons and teach a class of 6 students in years 1, 2& 3 with Autism and some who are non-verbal
  • To be resilient, hard-working and have an understanding of mental health and teaching neurodiverse children
  • Responsibility for tracking pupil progress and monitoring to support teaching and learning
  • Deliver dynamic and creative lessons
  • Built positive relationships with students, parents and carers
  • Experience teaching children with Autism

This is a challenging yet rewarding HLTA role, where you will take a lead in supporting teaching and learning, delivering interventions, and helping to shape positive outcomes for students with complex SEMH needs. The role Plan and deliver small group or 1:1 interventions to support learning, behaviour, and wellbeing. 1:1 SEMH Teaching Assistant Islington Starting 17th November We are supporting a mainstream school in Islington who are lookng for a dedicated 1:1 SEMH Teaching Assistant to work with a pupil will be be moving from a Pupil Referral Unit through an EHCP consultation to the mainstream setting in mid-November. There is a great opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the life of a child transitioning from a PRU to a mainstream environment. The pupil has SEMH nees and a diagnosis of ASC. Someone with a nurturing but boundaried approach, with knowledge of trauma and informed practice is really important. The Role Providing consistent nurturing support while maintaining clear boundaries. Applying trauma-informed practices to promote emotional well-being and engagement.
