We are recruiting a qualified school-based Speech and Language Therapist (SaLT) to join a well-established, creative, and supportive SEN school based in the London borough of Wandsworth.

You will be working directly with pupils aged 11 - 19, all diagnosed with ASD, challenging behaviour and associated learning difficulties; The school provides personalised and holistic education to children and young people diagnosed with Autism/ASC.

They have an in-house therapy team, and you will have fantastic CPD and training opportunities!

Ideal School-based Speech and Language Therapist:

  • Must be HCPC registered
  • Has a degree in Speech and Language Therapy or equivalent
  • Has experience working with children and young people with special needs, particularly with Autism/ASC and associated learning difficulties
  • Has personal interests in supporting children and young people with special needs
  • A positive, proactive, and patient individual who can build good working relationships with children, teachers, parents, and carers
  • A team player and has great communication skills

School-based Speech and Language Therapist's Main Responsibilities:

  • Providing both individual and group speech and language therapy services to children
  • Attending and contributing to staff meetings and Annual Review meetings
  • Working closely with the rest of the multidisciplinary team, as well as teachers and support staff
  • Providing a creative and nurturing learning environment where children can reach their potential
  • Being fully aware of the school policy and implementing Health and Safety Regulations, including Risk Assessment
