Complex Needs Teacher

We here at Parker Smith are working with a wonderful setting in the London Borough of Merton that are seeking a Complex Needs Teacher to join their inspiring team in September. This school provides holistic and therapeutic education to children with Autism/ASC, complex needs, Severe Learning Difficulties, and Profound Multiple Learning Difficulties. As a Complex Needs Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering individualised, creative lessons. You will collaborate with all the members of fantastic staff to ensure that every child is able to thrive. The school also offers brilliant training and development opportunities to support career progression. QTS/QTLS is required for this role and experience teaching complex needs is essential.
Complex Needs Teacher's Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver an appropriate curriculum that is tailored to the individual needs of each student, ensuring that each child's learning objectives are met.
- Work with other teachers and support staff to plan and deliver high-quality lessons that engage and inspire students, using various teaching strategies to support different learning styles and abilities.
- Assess and monitor students' progress, using a range of tools and techniques to evaluate their learning and adjust teaching methods accordingly.
- Work closely with parents, carers, and other professionals to ensure that the needs of each child are met and that they receive the support and care they require.
- Attend regular meetings with senior leadership and support staff to discuss the progress and welfare of students, sharing information and strategies to ensure that each child receives the best possible education.
- Maintain accurate records of students' progress and attendance, ensuring that all documentation is up-to-date and compliant with relevant legislation and policies.
- Participate in professional development opportunities, keeping up-to-date with best practices and emerging research in the field of SEN teaching.
- Provide a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment for students, promoting positive behaviour and relationships, and supporting the social and emotional wellbeing of each child.
