Here at Parker Smith Inclusion, we have an extremely rewarding opportunity for a Peer Mentor at a Men’s Prison. This prison believes strongly in supporting their inmates to acquire new skills and gain an education which will help them on release to continue with further education or enter a working environment. This is also one of the prisons within the UK that have InHouse Records, an award-winning music record label that promotes rehabilitation and has dramatically reduced the reoffending rate. They strongly believe creativity heals and that music brings people together and forms strong relationships. 

• They are very enthusiastic about making sure that every person within the prison feels safe and protected, inmates and staff alike.  

• All prisoners have the opportunity to work towards Level 2 Maths and English  

• Prisoners that are ready for release could be offered employment and apprenticeships  

• Access to a gym where inmates can learn about nutrition and fitness 

• A chance for prisoners to take part in mindfulness exercises and attend courses that support them with their difficulties such as managing their worry, parenting skills and communication 

• The wellbeing of all persons within the prison is at the forefront of their ethos
