The role

I am looking for a Learning Support Assistant to work in a fantastic school in Enfield. This is a classroom-based role based in either a year 8 or year 11 small class. This particular role requires a strong-minded, enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant who feels comfortable providing support for those who present with challenging behaviour.

The school have a strong ethos that “at the heart of human development is relationship”. As a Learning Support Assistant, building strong, genuine relationships with children is so important. This builds trust and allows pupils to reach their full potential.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting with the planning of activities, monitoring pupil’s progress, intervening when necessary, providing relevant feedback to the classroom teacher, and performing general duties to support both learners and teacher.

The ideal candidate

I am looking for a passionate, enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant who really has a desire for working with young, vulnerable people. The Learning Support Assistant should be empathetic and have the emotional intelligence to support students who may be in crisis. The children in this school can be quite challenging, therefore, the successful Learning Support Assistant should be well prepared to deescalate any situation which might sometimes require physical intervention. The Learning Support Assistant will truly be a positive role model and be passionate about setting good examples in everything they do. Having the ability to build good rapports with students is essential and really makes you stand out as a great Learning Support Assistant!
