I am working with an outstanding PMLD/SLD school in the borough of Merton which is seeking a PMLD/SLD Teaching Assistant to support the development of the students; physically, mentally and academically. This school offers pupils a fantastic educational provision and a caring environment in which they strive to reach their full potential. They work with young people aged between 3-19 who present with severe and complex learning difficulties and learners with an additional diagnosis of autism and/or physical/sensory difficulties.

 

 

About the School

  • Excellent training and progression pathways fully supported by the ambitious SLT.
  • Working closely with experienced professionals; SEN Teachers, Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists.
  • A truly creative and engaging environment.
  • Working hours of 8:30am-3:45pm, Monday-Thursday, and 8:30am-3:30pm on Friday.

 

The Ideal PMLD/SLD Teaching Assistant

  • The ideal PMLD/SLD Teaching Assistant is passionate about supporting vulnerable students with complex needs and helping them reach their full potential.
  • Is emotionally resilient and can adapt to challenging environments and situations.
  • PMLD/SLD Teaching Assistant must be confident with personal care as it is a necessity for this role.
  • Experience isn’t necessary, but passion, engagement, care and energy are essential.
