Kingston
South West London
£130 PAYE per day, weekly payment
Outreach Tutor – SEN Support (Autism, ADHD & SEMH)
Richmond & Kingston boroughs, South West London
ASAP Start
Contract: Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:30am–4pm (term time only)
Salary: £130 per day (PAYE, weekly pay, no umbrella deductions)
Not all classrooms have four walls…
Some young people simply can’t thrive in busy schools right now. They need calm, consistency, and a trusted adult who believes in them. That’s where you come in.
As an Outreach Tutor, you’ll bring learning and encouragement directly to students with Autism, ADHD, anxiety, trauma and SEMH needs, whether that’s in a library, a community space, or their own home. Every session is a chance to help a child take a step forward, however small.
What you’ll be doing
Delivering one-to-one core subjects support for children aged 5–16
Meeting students where they feel safest, at home or in the community
Helping with emotional regulation, confidence and resilience as much as academics
Building trusting relationships with young people who may have lost faith in school
Working independently but with full support from our team behind you
Using a patient, trauma-informed approach where progress is celebrated, not pressured
Is this you?
You’re calm, reliable, and naturally connect with young people
You have solid experience in school settings supporting children with SEN / SEMH
You’re confident in planning and delivering creative lessons to one-to-one and flexible enough to adapt to each child’s needs
You can travel around Kingston and Richmond (a car helps, but isn’t essential)
Why this role matters
You’ll help children rediscover the joy of learning in their own way
You’ll see progress in confidence, self-esteem and trust
You’ll gain meaningful experience for careers in teaching, therapy or educational psychology
No two days are ever the same; every child, every space, every journey is different
Most importantly, you’ll know you’re making a real difference in a young person’s life
What we offer
£130 per day, weekly pay via PAYE (no umbrella deductions)
Training in trauma-informed and relational approaches
A supportive consultant who genuinely understands the emotional side of the role
Long-term opportunities across South West London
A route into SEN careers from therapy to teaching

A chance to teach English in a way that truly changes lives
Do you believe every child deserves someone who won’t give up on them?
We are looking for an English Teacher who is ready to bring patience, creativity, and compassion to pupils who need it most.
This isn’t a mainstream teaching role. It’s about giving children with Autism (ASC) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH) the chance to feel safe, heard, and capable of success.
About the school
This is a small, therapeutic school for children aged 9–16 who cannot thrive in mainstream. Here, relationships come first.
Small classes of no more than 8 pupils, with two fantastic Teaching Assistants in each
A calm, nurturing setting with Speech & Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Behaviour Support on hand
A creative, personalised curriculum that celebrates progress as much as outcomes
A leadership team that listens, supports, and invests in staff wellbeing and professional growth
What you’ll be doing day to day
Teaching English Language & Literature up to GCSE, with plenty of freedom to adapt lessons to your pupils’ needs
Finding creative ways to make reading and writing exciting and meaningful for learners who may have lost confidence
Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour, always with a trauma-informed, patient approach
Working as part of a close-knit team where teachers, TAs, and therapists all pull together for the same goal
Building the kind of relationships where pupils feel safe to take risks, try again, and believe in themselves
Why you’ll love working here
The school is growing, and there will be real opportunities for progression and leadership.
You’ll get access to excellent CPD and training, including behaviour, SEN, and therapeutic approaches.
If you don’t yet hold QTS/QTLS, there are routes into formal teacher training.
You’ll be part of a school where staff feel valued, supported, and proud of the work they do every day.
Best of all, you’ll have the chance to teach in a way that really matters, without the same pressures of mainstream.
About you
A Qualified Teacher (QTS / QTLS) or an unqualified teacher with at least 2 years’ teaching experience
Confident in teaching English up to GCSE and able to adapt to a range of abilities
Patient, resilient, and passionate about inclusive practice
Skilled at building trust with young people who may find school difficult
Experience with Autism, ADHD, or SEMH (personal or professional) would be a bonus, but not essential
