Full-Time, Temp-to-Perm | Barking and Dagenham
Start Date: Immediate
Pay: £90 per day (PAYE)
Be the Person Who Helps Every Pupil Thrive
For some young people, school can feel confusing, overwhelming, or even unsafe. They may struggle to connect, communicate, or engage. But with the right support, every young person can feel understood and confident. That’s where you come in.
A School Where Every Interaction Counts
This fantastic secondary school in Barking and Dagenham specialises in supporting children and young people with ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition). Here, learning is personalised, structured, and meaningful, with a focus on strengths rather than challenges.
Class sizes are small, giving you the chance to make a real difference. Working alongside experienced teachers and therapists, you’ll help pupils build confidence, develop independence, and reconnect with learning—sometimes for the very first time.
What You Can Expect:
A calm, structured environment designed for success for both pupils and staff
Opportunities to work closely with therapists, SENCOs, and a dedicated leadership team
Meaningful, day-to-day progress for pupils, from engaging in lessons to developing key life skills
A supportive, collaborative team who value your contribution and ideas
Who You Are:
You may already have experience supporting children or young people with ASC or other SEND, or you could come from a care, pastoral, or youth work background. Most importantly, you are patient, resilient, compassionate, and committed to helping every pupil feel safe and valued.
If you’re curious, enthusiastic, and ready to learn, the school will provide the training, mentoring, and support you need to make an immediate impact.
Your Impact Will Last a Lifetime
This role isn’t just a job, it’s an opportunity to change lives. From helping a pupil communicate their first words to supporting them in managing their emotions, every day is rewarding.

Complex Needs Teaching Assistant
Location: Havering
Pay: £90–£100 per day (PAYE)
Contract: Full-time | Temp-to-Perm | Start: ASAP
"No two children learn in the same way — our job is to guide, support, and walk beside them."
A warm and forward-thinking primary school in Havering is seeking a committed Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to join their Autism Resource Provision. Supporting pupils aged 4–11 within a small, structured classroom
Using visual tools, communication aids, and practical strategies to help understanding
Encouraging independence through routine, predictability, and clear expectations
Helping pupils move smoothly between activities and different parts of the school

Outreach Learning Mentor – Therapeutic Support for Young People
Location: Barking and Dagenham
Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday | 8:30am – 4:30pm
Are you passionate about supporting young people who need someone in their corner?
We’re recruiting an Outreach Learning Mentor on behalf of an exceptional therapeutic organisation working across London. This team is dedicated to supporting vulnerable and high-risk young people through a nurturing, no-exclusion approach.
In this role, you’ll engage with young people who have been out of education for long periods and may not yet be ready to return to a mainstream setting. Over the course of two terms, you will guide them through a structured programme of induction, assessment, and transition—providing the consistency and therapeutic support they need to take their next steps with confidence.
The young people you’ll work with often have SEMH or ASC needs, as well as additional challenges linked to trauma, exploitation, or adverse experiences. Your job will be to build meaningful relationships, support emotional regulation, and offer interventions that empower them to move forward at their own pace.
Why This Role Matters
This organisation has a strong reputation for transforming lives. Many young people rediscover their confidence, re-engage with learning, and develop emotional resilience thanks to the one-to-one support they receive.
One recent example includes a student with a history of exclusions, low attendance, PTSD, and significant behavioural difficulties. Through consistent therapeutic mentoring, they transitioned into a specialist school, achieved 93% attendance, and are now thriving. With your support, more young people can experience this kind of success.
Your Key Responsibilities
Develop personalised, holistic learning plans
Provide one-to-one therapeutic mentoring outside of a classroom setting
Help young people progress from disengagement to stability, confidence, and achievement
What You’ll Receive
Lunch and travel expenses covered during the working day
Full-time hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30am–4:30pm
The chance to work across London, supporting multiple young people
What We’re Looking For
Experience working with dysregulated behaviour and an understanding of the deeper factors behind it
A trauma-informed, therapeutic mindset
Compassion, resilience, and a genuine desire to create positive change
If you’re motivated by making a real impact and want to be part of a dedicated, supportive team, we’d love to hear from you.
