I am working with a vibrant and creative SEND school who are seeking a Full-Time Classroom Support Assistant, the position is to work alongside pupils aged 3 - 19, each with individual needs that recquire specialist support, whether that be Emotional, Behavioural or Academic.

Knowledge and an understanding of Special Educational Needs is essential for this position. You will need to have a solid understanding of various SEND needs and how this would impact on a pupils learning.

This includes understanding the specific needs, strengths, challenges, and appropriate support strategies for students with needs such as autism, dyslexia, ADHD, sensory impairments, and physical disabilities.

Classroom Support Assistant Requirements:

  • Passion for working with children in early years / EYFS who require additional support in order to access education and social development

  • May have experience working in a nursery or early years class

  • Ideally previous experience (formal or informal) supporting children with Autism or other special educational needs

  • Has excellent communication skills and be a team player

  • A proactive and positive individual who is always striving to meet children's learning needs.

  • Ability to build rapport with children

  • Has creative approach

What you can expect as a Classroom Support Assistant:

  • Your role in a special school will be to support children with Autism / ASC and complex needs, however the role will vary from day to day, you will be expected to use your initiative and respond calmly in challenging situations

  • For aspiring Teachers, Pastoral Workers, Child Psychologists, Educational Psychologists, Clinical Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, SALTs, Counsellors, and Social Workers, these positions will offer relevant and vital experience for your chosen career path

  • Continued Professional Development - this SEN school is continually training their staff to help them support their children's needs, you will become an expert in your field

Pay

  • We understand that pay is extremely important and it must be clear and simple! For that reason we have chosen to pay our staff via PAYE only. Quoted rates are gross pay and your pay will never involve employer's NI deductions or admin fees.

  • Just as roles vary, so will the remuneration depending on the role requirements and your experience. You will often see these roles advertised as daily rates, please note that we pay PAYE only and rates will vary from £420 - £500 per week, depending on the role and your experience.
