They demonstrate inclusive, strengths-based practice and the resilient development of every child is at the core of their ethos. The school is a secondary school catering to students with a ride range of needs including SEMH, ASC, Social and Communication needs.
The school continues to have very high expectations of hard work to reach the full potential of all of their students.
About the Headteacher role
Highlighting a select few of your Headteacher responsibilities, you will; ensure the curriculum is delivered in a nurturing way, develop and coordinate interventions to support therapeutic learning, collate individual pupil data, provide professional guidance to teaching staff and oversee the assessment of learning needs. As you would expect, this list is non-exhaustive, and PS Inclusion are more than happy to expand on duties if required.
Headteacher Criteria
Education and Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher (holds QTS)
- SENCO and NPQSL desirable
- Evidence of ongoing professional development in education
Knowledge and Experience
- Minimum of 8 years’ teaching experience post qualification and minimum of 5 years’ leadership experience.
- The highest expectations of pupils with SEND and the staff that work with them and oneself.
- Recent proven experience as an outstanding primary practitioner/teacher.
- Membership of SLT or additional responsibilities demonstrating the management of staff.
- Experience of liaising with LA SEN Teams
- Experience of supporting neurodiverse children or with ASC and/or SEMH and an understanding of potential implications for communication, learning and behaviour patterns.
- Demonstrable achievement in improving learning outcomes.
- Knowledge and awareness of Safeguarding & Child Protection Procedures.
