KS2 Nurture Teacher - Immediately or September 2024

  • SEMH Specialist School 
  • Immediate Start or ASAP

We are currently searching for Specialist Teachers to work in various SEMH specialist settings, such as Pupil Referral Units, SEMH specialist schools, CAHMS Education services, Behaviour provisions within mainstream settings, and Local Authority outreach teams. Our aim is to support education providers who cater to children and young people who, due to various reasons, cannot access any other formal educational settings. These individuals are the most vulnerable, at-risk, and hard-to-reach members of our community. In these roles, it is crucial to understand their SEMH needs, as that is a prerequisite for their academic development. We are looking for individuals who can make a positive impact by addressing their SEMH needs effectively.

  • Therapeutic teaching approach
  • Experience in teaching with emotional regulation and with positive behaviour/de-escalation strategies
  • Positive role model to support communication with a sensitive, nurturing, and consistent approach
  • Experience with SEMH, Trauma, Sensory processing, social communication teaching background
  • Ability to build strong and meaningful relationships with vulnerable students
  • Experience working with disengaged teenagers is essential.

Requirements for SEMH Teachers:

  • Although some of our teaching roles require QTS/QTLS, we want to hear from all Teachers no matter what your qualifications are!
  • The passion to teach and inspire young people during a crucial stage of their personal and academic development.
  • A nurturing, patient, empathetic and holistic approach

Although experience teaching in SEMH specialist settings is beneficial, I would also love to hear from individuals who are interested in taking their first steps into SEND settings.
