We are currently working with a complex needs school based in the London Borough of Hillingdon who are currently looking to recruit a Primary Literacy Lead or English Specialist to start in September 2024.
The school supports students with moderate to severe learning difficulties, complex learning and behavioural needs including autistic spectrum disorders and associated speech, language and communication difficulties. Their aim is to provide a broad range of learning experiences so that all their students can reach their full potential, are able to live life to the fullest and become valued and valuable members of their communities. They provide a person-centred curriculum, adapted to each students' needs, and offer a variety of educational programs.
This opportunity is to lead the subject of English/Literacy and be part of the schools Middle Leadership Team. You will take the lead to plan, co-ordinate and quality assure your subject are to ensure that the subject is consistently wel planned throughout the school.
You:
- Will have successfully completed teacher training, holding either QTS or QTLS
- Have experience leading Literacy/English
- Either be an experienced SEND teacher or a primary teacher with KS1 and Literacy lead experience looking to transition into special educational needs
- Have experience of the National Curriculum framework
- Have experience supporting students with additional needs and those with ASC/ASD
- Have excellent communication skills
