Are you looking for a new challenge supporting children and young people with behaviour and social, emotional, and mental health needs?

I am working with a number of PRUs (Pupil Referral Units) based in Greenwich that are seeking for passionate and resilient behaviour mentors to join their team. The schools offer education to students in primary through to secondary who are not able to attend mainstream school due to their challenging behaviour and maybe other additional needs. The school are seeking behaviour mentors that can be flexible through the school, the successful candidate will be working within the classrooms, which is up to 6 students. Working 1:1 and within small groups, you will be given a class/child you are based with but at times will be expected to work in other classrooms supporting throughout the school. If you have a passion and skilled in sport, music or art or other interested this can be welcomed into the role.

Even if your experience is informal/voluntary, I want to hear from you! The children you will support will have a variety of needs which can include significant complex behaviour challenges and sometimes associated SEND.

 

PRU Behaviour Mentor requirements:

● Experience of working with young people with SEND and/or Autism, ADHD, sensory processing difficulties and learning difficulties or experience with SEMH, Trauma, Sensory processing, social communication

● Teaching Assistant / Learning Mentor / Youth Worker experience

● Ability to build strong and meaningful relationships

● A passion for working with SEND is essential
