SEMH Science Teacher

Location: East London

Salary: £34,000-£53,000 per year

Here at Parker Smith Inclusion, we are working with an all-boys SEMH school in East London that supports children diagnosed with SEMH who cannot attend mainstream education. The school are looking for a SEMH Science Teacher to join the dedicated and experienced staffing team.

  • Planning and teaching well-structured lessons to assigned classes
  • Using a wide range of specialist teaching strategies
  • Providing a creative but flexible learning environment
  • Identifying the pupils’ needs and interests and incorporating life skills with vocational training
  • Promoting pupil’s progress and achievements portraying the schools ethos 'come with a past, leave with a future' 

Ideal Science Teacher

  • Has QTS or if unqualified, would have high level of experience
  • Ideally has teaching experience in a SEMH school or similar setting
  • Adaptable – you will be working with students with EHCP so the ideal Science Teacher will have to be adaptable to help support the education of the young people
  • Ideally, you would have experience teaching children and young people with special needs, particularly with SEMH or Autism
  • Have knowledge of the National Curriculum whilst having a flexible approach
  • A positive, proactive and patient individual who has a can-do attitude and is willing to learn
  • A team player and has great communication skills
  • Being able to build up good working relationships with pupils and staff
