SEN Teacher – Specialist Therapeutic School – Reading - September 2022

Would you like to teach in a brand new therapeutic school?

Are you a qualified Secondary teacher either with SEMH/ASC experience or are you looking to transition from mainstream into a specialist setting?

About the Therapeutic School

The school which opened in April 2022 will specialise in meeting the needs of young people with social emotional and mental health difficulties and neurodiverse children with SEMH needs. 

The school offers a therapeutic, individualised, broad and balanced curriculum, the school is committed to offering a balanced emphasis on educational, psychological and social development of their young people

What you can expect as a SEN Teacher in a therapeutic setting

Teachers at this school are responsible for a high standard or planning, teaching, assessment and behaviour management for the schools students. As this is a brand new school, teachers will be flexible in their teaching subjects and be willing and the ability to teach multiple subjects would be advantageous. You can expect to deliver national curriculum and also project learning and vocational courses to students in key stage 2 or key stage 3.

SEN Teacher requirements 

  • QTS or equivalent 
  • SEND experience is essential
  • Calm and nurturing teaching style
