SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Hayes, Hillingdon - North West London

Salary: £85 per day paid PAYE

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:15am - 3:15pm

Start Date: ASAP

We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a beautiful primary school in Hillingdon. The school offers Teacher Training and Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) training, providing excellent opportunities for career growth and professional development. Located in a stunning setting, the school prides itself on being a warm and inclusive environment where children thrive and develop.

The school was refurbished earlier last year in 2023 and boasts modern facilities with 16 classrooms and new IT suit another external building block containing a library, meetings room, kitchen, staff gym and an area for our Thrive practitioner and Family Support worker. 

Your responsibilities as a SEN Teaching assistant:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering dynamic and engaging lessons to support children of all abilities
  • Work closely with individual students or small groups to provide additional support and address specific learning needs
  • Support students with social and emotional development, promoting a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere
  • Assist with classroom management, ensuring a low level of behaviour issues and maintaining a positive learning environment
  • Collaborate with the class teacher to create and implement individualised learning plans for students with special educational needs
  • Provide feedback to the class teacher on students' progress and achievements

The Ideal SEN Teaching Assistant :

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant is preferred, but not essential.
  • A passion for making a difference and supporting children of all abilities
  • A warm and inclusive outlook, promoting equality and diversity
  • A positive and friendly personality, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues to provide the best possible education for our students
  • A commitment to personal and professional development, with a willingness to participate in additional training and HLTA courses
