Role: SEN Teaching Assistant

Type of School: ASD, SLCN, and associated needs (personal care required)

Salary: £18,000 - £20,000 (term-time)

Start: Immediate – Permanent

I am working with a fantastic specialist SEN school in the London Borough of Redbridge catering for children between 3-11 with a range of complex needs; such as autism, social communication difficulties and associated conditions. They are seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join their large (and growing!) team of professionals to help support the students learning and help them achieve the best out of their time in school.

The students are so happy and love coming to school – and new staff are highly welcomed!

You will be welcomed into a highly-skilled and supportive team, surrounded by professionals such as Speech and Language/Occupational Therapists and a senior leadership team of exceptional experience who will guide you and ensure you are always supported – including a ‘buddy’ system for new starters!

 

The ideal SEN Teaching Assistant

  • Will have experience working with complex needs – or a genuine passion to work within the industry
  • Team Teach or other intervention training is beneficial, as well as PECS/Makaton
  • The ideal SEN Teaching Assistant will have strong emotional resilience and work well under pressure
  • Can form meaningful relationships between pupils and staff
  • Can undertake personal care and manual handling strategies
  • Is committed to supporting young people and holding a lasting impact in their lives
  • Works hard and is committed to making a positive change
