Therapeutic Care Assistant

  • Uxbridge, North West London

  • Specialist SEN School for children with Autism/ASC, Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and Profound Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)

  • Full-Time (Term Time); Immediate Start

  • £425 - £500 Pay As You Earn (PAYE); Weekly Payment

Parker Smith Inclusion is supporting the development of a specialist SEN school therapeutic offer and has exciting opportunities for Therapeutic Care Assistants looking for practical experience to build on their careers in therapy. This specialist SEN school is in Uxbridge, North West London, and is easily accessed via several public transport links. Alternatively, parking is available for car drivers. The school has fantastic facilities and resources for their pupils’ needs.

We are actively seeking an engaging and passionate Therapeutic Care Assistant to add to their friendly and talented SEN staff team. We are looking to speak to professional and committed support staff who are passionate about therapeutic intervention, even if your experience is informal/voluntary, we want to hear from you!

Therapeutic Care Assistant Requirements:

  • Essential - Passion for working with young people who require additional support in order to access education and social development

  • Essential - Experience in working with Autism/ASC, Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and Profound Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)

  • Essential - Ability to build strong and meaningful relationships

  • Beneficial - Experience using Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices

  • Beneficial – Experience in neurological rehabilitation

  • Beneficial – Experience in therapy support/interventions

What you can expect as a Therapy Care Assistant:

These opportunities have a lot of scope and can suit applicants of all experience levels and disciplines.

The roles and duties will vary depending on where your experience best fits within the school. For aspiring Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Physiotherapists, this position will offer a relevant and vital experience for your chosen path.

Continued Professional Development – this is a learning environment for staff too and the school is continually training their staff to help them support their children's needs, you will become an expert in your field.

You will have an opportunity to make a huge social impact, in this role, you will be shaping the future of the children in your care!

Therapeutic Care Assistant’s Pay:

This role is a full-time (term time only) position for the whole academic year with an opportunity to become permanent. The salary range is between £85 and £100 PAYE per day and it is negotiable based on experience and the job role.

We understand that pay is extremely important, and it must be clear and simple! For that reason, we have chosen to pay our staff via PAYE only. Quoted rates are gross pay and your pay will never involve the employer's NI deductions or admin fees.

Just as roles vary, so will the remuneration depending on the role requirements and your experience. You will often see these roles advertised as daily rates, please note that we pay PAYE only, and please bear in mind that all school-based work will be term time only.
