We are working with an incredible school in London’s South East borough of Lambeth to fill the position of Therapeutic English Teacher to lead a class teaching within a Pupil Referral Unit. The students at the PRU School have been removed from mainstream education, and all range between the ages of 11 to 16. In this rewarding role, it will be your objective to help them achieve their academic and personal development targets.

During this role, you will be supported by Behaviour Mentors who will support you with lessons, both setting up and in execution, ensuring that throughout the lessons, the students remain focussed. Requirements of a Therapeutic English Teacher:

  • To work and support students with Social, Emotional, Mental Health and Challenging behaviour
  • To observe, assess and support students referred to the school from mainstream schools and to set strategies and behaviour targets based on reports and observations.
  • To work alongside Management, SENCO’s and other faculty
  • To be prepared to offer advice to parents and work with them to support their child.
