I am currently working with several fantastic specialist schools and provisions based in Harlesden. They are seeking an Autism Specialist to join their supportive and positive teams.
This position is full-time and has an immediate start date. If you really want to kick start your career in SEND support, this is your role!
In this Autism Specialist role, you will work with a range of students with Autism / ASC and various learning difficulties across different specialist settings.
You will be required to work alongside teams that include Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Art Therapists.
This position best suits someone with experience supporting children and young people in 1:1 or small group settings.
What to expect in the role and what is expected of you:

Integrating the creative arts into the curriculum such as music, art, drama, and dance

Participating in a wide range of activities to promote pupils' cognitive, cultural, social, physical, and emotional well-being

Working alongside the teacher to create and deliver engaging learning activities

Monitoring pupil progress and setting achievable development targets

Collaborating with professionals such as nurses, Occupational Therapists, and Speech and Language Therapists

Engaging pupils through play-based and sensory-related activities

Demonstrating a personal interest in working with young people with Autism and associated learning difficulties

Having some experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs

Building strong and meaningful relationships with both staff and students

Showing a positive, patient, and proactive attitude with a genuine desire to learn and grow
