I am working with a School in Newham who are in need of a dedicated Early Years SEN Assistant to support children in their critical early development stages. You'll be based in a SEN inclusion class to support a small group of Early Years - KS1 Children that have undiagnosed autism, and/or non-verbal. The children are interactive, eager to learn and needing the right person to support them to reach their end goal, integrated back into mainstream class!
About the Role:
As an Early Years SEN Assistant, you will:
Work closely with children in a nurturing and stimulating environment.
Support children with undiagnosed autism, tailoring your approach to their individual needs.
Assist with personal care, ensuring the well-being and comfort of all children.
Foster a positive and engaging atmosphere that encourages learning through play.
Collaborate with teachers and parents to create and implement strategies for each child's success.
About You:
I'm considering candidates that have the following on their CV;
Experienced in nursery or reception settings (preferred).
Knowledgeable about SEN practices, particularly autism (experience with undiagnosed autism is a plus).
Qualified with CACHE Level 1, 2, or 3 or an Early Years degree.
Comfortable with personal care responsibilities.
Active, energetic, and ready to engage with young learners on their level.
Bubbly, enthusiastic, and genuinely committed to helping children develop and thrive.

About the Role: As an Intervention Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other professionals to deliver specialised interventions to students who require additional support. Your role will focus on improving academic outcomes and promoting emotional well-being through tailored sessions in the following areas:
Mathematics and English support
Emotional regulation
Self-development
Anxiety control
Anger management
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver small-group or one-to-one interventions to support students' academic, emotional, and social needs.
Monitor and assess students' progress, adapting interventions as necessary to ensure effective outcomes.
Collaborate with teaching staff to integrate intervention strategies into the wider curriculum.
Build positive and supportive relationships with students to foster confidence and engagement.
Support students in developing resilience, self-regulation, and positive coping strategies.
Maintain accurate records of intervention sessions and communicate progress to teachers, parents, and carers.
About You: To excel in this role, you will need:
Proven experience in delivering interventions in Maths, English, and emotional development.
A strong understanding of strategies to support students with anxiety, anger management, and self-regulation.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trust and rapport with students.
Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to addressing students' individual needs.
A relevant qualification in education or child development is desirable but not essential.

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Proven experience working with children with SEN in a school setting.
Strong understanding of SEN strategies, including behaviour management, autism-friendly practices, and communication methods such as Makaton or PECS.
A patient, compassionate, and proactive approach to teaching and supporting children with diverse needs.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

They are looking for resilient and compassionate Outreach Therapeutic Mentors, your role will be supporting an extremely vulnerable young person on a 1:1 basis out in the community, maybe within their home or a local library, with the intent of helping them eventually over time become ready to be able to go into a specialist school setting and learn alongside their peers.
This process starts with building a bond between you, most of these students will have gone through ACE’s (Adverse Childhood Experiences) and will have indicators of PTSD, trust needs to be earned over time. Once the trust is there you will be therapeutically supporting them with fully bespoke plans that suit their needs.
This organisation has a high success rate in that young people are eventually are back in full time education or employment, and on top of that thriving, able to regulate their emotions and begin to process their trauma. An example of this is a young person with previous low school attendance, multiple exclusions, PTSD, and extremely aggressive behaviour. After being assigned a specialist mentor and working together, this young person has now transitioned to a specialist school, has a 93% attendance record, is part of restorative groups helping him to process his trauma and is thriving with a bespoke curriculum.
