About the Role

Early Years SEND Teaching Assistant

I am working with a lovely mainstream primary school in Hillingdon, which has a fantastic Special Resource Provision which caters for children in EYFS - KS2 who have been diagnosed with ASC, ADHD, Down's Syndrome and SEMH.

This is a fantastic opportunity for any individual who is looking to gain practical and clinical experience in the field of special needs education.

Early Years SEN Teaching Assistant requirements

  • Passion for working with young people who require additional support in order to access education and social development

  • Ideally previous experience (formal or informal) supporting children with autism or other special educational needs

  • CACHE Level 3 desirable

  • A proactive and positive individual who is always striving to meet children's learning needs.

  • Ability to build rapport with children

  • Willingness to learn and partake in any additional training

  • Strong behaviour management skills, ability to de-escalate situations and give strong direction

  • A good sense of humour and a optimistic outlook

What you can expect as a Early Years SEN Teaching Assistant

  • You will be expected to communicate with families, social workers and therapy teams.

  • You will be responsible for leading play based activities, developing social skills and building confidence

  • Your role as a Early Years SEN Teaching Assistant will be to support a child with special educational needs however the role will vary from day to day, you will be expected to use your initiative and respond calmly in challenging situations

  • For aspiring Teachers, Pastoral Workers, Child Psychologists, Educational Psychologists, Clinical Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, SALTs, Counsellors, and Social Workers, these positions will offer relevant and vital experience for your chosen career path

  • Continued Professional Development - SEND schools and APs are continually training their staff to help them support their children's needs, you will become an expert in your field

  • You will have an opportunity to make a huge social impact, as a specialist 1:1 Early Years SEN Teaching Assistant you would change the path of a child's life.

Pay

  • We understand that pay is extremely important and it must be clear and simple! For that reason we have chosen to pay our staff via PAYE only. Quoted rates are gross pay and your pay will never involve employer's NI deductions or admin fees.

  • Just as roles vary, so will the remuneration depending on the role requirements and your experience. You will often see these roles advertised as daily rates, please note that we pay PAYE only and rates will vary from £80-100 per day, depending on the role and your experience.
