M1 – M6 | PAYE only

Do you have a talent for bringing education to life for students who learn differently? Are you able to engage pupils, who often struggle and are considered "not interested"?
We are seeking an inspirational and dedicated Humanities SEMH Teacher to join specialist schools in Merton.
This role is ideal for a teacher who thrives on supporting pupils with SEMH(Social, Emotional and Mental Health), Autism, trauma, and those who are disengaged with education.
About the Role
As a Humanities SEMH Teacher, you will:

Deliver creative, engaging, and differentiated Humanities lessons to small groups of pupils with a primary diagnosis of SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health), Autism, ADHD, trauma, and those who are disengaged with education

Plan and teach Humanities, tailored to each pupil’s individual learning plan

Focus on improving communication, reading, and writing confidence, helping students find enjoyment and success in Humanities

Work collaboratively with the school’s multidisciplinary team, including therapists and support staff, to ensure pupils’ social, emotional, and academic progress

Foster a safe, nurturing classroom environment where students can express themselves and develop a love of learning
Requirements
You will need:

QTS or QTLS, ideally with a specialism in Humanities

Proven experience teaching Humanities to pupils with SEMH(Social, Emotional and Mental Health), Autism, trauma, and those who are disengaged with education.

A Child and Adult Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

A creative, patient, and resilient approach to supporting vulnerable learners.
