Maths SEMH Teacher – Special Needs Provision

M1 – M6 | PAYE only

We are seeking an inspirational and dedicated Math SEMH Teacher to join specialist schools in Merton. This role is ideal for a teacher who thrives on supporting pupils with SEMH(Social, Emotional and Mental Health), Autism, trauma, and those who are disengaged with education.
About the Role
As an Math SEMH Teacher, you will:

Deliver creative, engaging, and differentiated Maths lessons to small groups of pupils with a primary diagnosis of Autism, SEMH, complex needs, and learning difficulties.

Plan and teach functional literacy and Maths skills, tailored to each pupil’s individual learning plan.

Focus on improving communication, reading, and writing confidence, helping students find enjoyment and success in English.

Work collaboratively with the school’s multidisciplinary team—including therapists and support staff—to ensure pupils’ social, emotional, and academic progress.

Foster a safe, nurturing classroom environment where students can express themselves and develop a love of learning.
Requirements
You will need:

QTS or QTLS, ideally with a specialism in Maths.

Proven experience teaching Maths to pupils with SEMH(Social, Emotional and Mental Health), Autism, trauma, and those who are disengaged with education.

A Child and Adult Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

A creative, patient, and resilient approach to supporting vulnerable learners.
