Are you an experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist looking to become part of a multidisciplinary therapy team for a SEND school? Are you a passionate and dedicated Speech and Language Therapist looking to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people with Autism, speech and language difficulties, and potentially Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?

I am looking for a Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to become part of a permanent multidisciplinary therapy team based in a wonderful SEMH School in South West London, easily accessible from Central London. 

Main responsibilities for Speech and Language Therapist role:

As an integral part of our team, you will:

  • Assess and support pupils with a range of sensory, motor, and emotional regulation needs.

  • Develop and implement individualised therapy programmes tailored to each student's EHCP.

  • Work closely with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies to embed therapeutic strategies into everyday school life.

  • Provide training and guidance to school staff to promote a whole-school therapeutic approach.

Requirements for Speech and Language Therapists:

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is a qualified and BACP accredited therapist 

  • Has experience (or a strong interest) in working with children and young people with SEMH, autism, and/or neurodiversity.

  • Is resilient, empathetic, and adaptable to a fast-paced and emotionally rewarding environment.

  • Can work effectively as part of a team and independently.

This SEND school caters for students with Autism and Speech and language difficulties aged 5 - 19. They are a well-equipped school with excellent leadership across their schools that provides a positive and safe learning environment for their children. Their provision for post-16 allows for their students to learn skills for independent living and life beyond school, which could be to prepare them for work or college life.
