We are working with a fantastic SEND school in the Hammersmith & Fulham area that caters for pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), many of whom also have additional sensory or physical needs. The school provides a highly nurturing, inclusive environment where every student is celebrated for their individuality and supported to reach their full potential.

The Role – PMLD Support Assistant

As a PMLD Support Assistant, you will:

  • Support students on a 1:1 and small-group basis with their learning, communication, and personal care needs

  • Assist with the delivery of sensory-based and therapeutic learning activities

  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to ensure pupils’ individual needs are met

  • Help maintain a positive, safe, and engaging classroom environment

  • Build trusting relationships that encourage pupils to feel calm, confident, and valued

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Compassionate, calm, and confident working with children with severe and complex needs

  • Comfortable supporting with personal care and moving & handling (training can be provided)

  • A strong communicator with a genuine passion for inclusive education

  • Experienced in SEND settings – though this isn’t essential if you have the right attitude and willingness to learn
