We are seeking a dedicated PMLD Specialist Teacher to join our dynamic and nurturing SEND school community in Kingston for September 2025. Our school supports pupils aged 5–19 with a range of complex needs, including autism, sensory processing challenges, PMLD, Complex Needs, SLD, stimming behaviours (including echolalia), dysregulation, and self-harm tendencies.

This is a nurturing and forward-thinking special school committed to providing a meaningful, person-centred education for children and young people aged 4 - 19 with complex needs, including PMLD. Our supportive staff team works collaboratively to ensure every child has the opportunity to learn, communicate, and thrive in a safe and stimulating environment.

The Role:

• You will be responsible for delivering a creative, highly differentiated curriculum tailored to the complex needs of a small class of pupils with PMLD.
• With access to a wide range of sensory resources and specialist support, you will help each pupil to achieve their full potential, no matter how small the steps.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Plan and deliver individualised and engaging lessons using sensory, therapeutic, and multi-modal approaches
• Work closely with a team of TAs, therapists, and parents/carers to create a consistent and holistic learning experience
• Monitor and record pupil progress, celebrating every achievement
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where pupils feel safe, respected, and valued
• Create a calm, safe, and stimulating classroom environment using sensory and therapeutic strategies
• Work collaboratively with families, therapists, and outside agencies to support pupil progress and wellbeing
• Assess and celebrate every step of progress using appropriate frameworks (e.g., Engagement Model, MAPP)
