Behaviour Mentor -– SEMH, Autism & Complex Behaviours

Inspire, Nurture and Support.

Kingston/Sutton and Richmond
Start Date: ASAP and September 2025
£90 – £95 (Depending on experience) PAYE per day (paid weekly)
Term Time Only – Full-Time, Monday to Friday

Are you a passionate Graduate looking to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Mental Health?

Do you have a drive to help vulnerable children and people access education and be a force for them to develop both academically and personally?

We are seeking a passionate, resilient, and empathetic Behaviour Mentor to join our dynamic team, supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism, and complex behavioural challenges. Working across both 1:1 and group settings, you will play a pivotal role in helping our learners engage with education, build positive relationships, and develop key social and emotional skills.

Parker Smith Inclusion is working in partnership with SEN schools and Alternative Provisions in Sutton, Kingston and Richmond, who are seeking roles where they can make a genuine difference in young people's lives, where you can nurture the individual.

What We’re Looking For

A genuine passion for supporting children and young people with SEND
A patient, empathetic, and positive approach
Ideally, a degree in Psychology, Education, Child Development or a related field (not essential)
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Resilience and adaptability in challenging situations
Provide consistent, nurturing 1:1 and group support tailored to the individual needs of students.
Implement strategies to support emotional regulation, positive behaviour, and engagement.
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, SENCOs, and families to create and review individual behaviour and support plans.
De-escalate challenging behaviour in a calm, constructive manner using therapeutic approaches such as MAPA, Team Teach or PRICE (if trained).
Facilitate small group interventions focused on social skills, emotional literacy, and resilience-building.
Act as a trusted adult and role model, fostering positive relationships based on respect, understanding, and clear boundaries.
Maintain detailed records and contribute to reviews, EHCP processes, and safeguarding procedures.
