About the Role
SEMH Mentor – Secondary School (Behaviour Support & Wellbeing)
Location: Wandsworth
Start Date: 01/09/2025
Hours: Full-Time | Term-Time Only (Temp to Perm contract)
Salary: £90 - £95 per day (PAYE)

Do you have the confidence, empathy and resilience to support students with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs?
We are looking for a dedicated SEMH Mentor to join our dynamic and nurturing team, supporting secondary-aged pupils who face barriers to learning due to behavioural challenges, trauma, or mental health needs.
What You'll Do:

Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs

Use a nurturing, empathetic approach to build trusting relationships

Support students across the curriculum in class and in interventions

Help young people manage behaviour and develop coping strategies

Take ownership and accountability for the progress and wellbeing of your key pupils

Work closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams and external agencies
What We’re Looking For:

Experience working with young people with SEMH needs or behavioural challenges

Confidence in supporting students within a secondary curriculum setting

A calm, patient and emotionally resilient individual

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to de-escalate situations effectively

A team player who is passionate about promoting positive change in young lives
