This is a full time, term time only role supporting primary aged pupils (5 to 11 years) with SEMH, ASC, ADHD and SLD. Classes are intentionally small, allowing time, space and attention for each child to feel seen, safe and supported.
The school places a strong emphasis on neurodiversity, emotional wellbeing and tailored learning, recognising that confidence and self belief are often the foundations of academic progress.
The Role
As a Teaching assistant, you will be a consistent and reassuring presence in a child’s school day.
You will provide one to one support and classroom based assistance, helping pupils access learning in a way that works for them. You will support emotional regulation, build routines, encourage independence and help pupils develop the skills they need to engage with learning and with others.
Working closely with teachers, therapists and fellow support staff, you will help create a calm, structured and nurturing environment where children feel safe to take risks, ask questions and grow in confidence.

You may already have experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant, Teaching Assistant or Support Worker, or you may be a psychology or education graduate looking to build a career in SEND.
More importantly, you are someone who believes in children first.
You are patient, reflective and emotionally attuned
You can build trust with pupils who may struggle with school
You understand that behaviour is communication
You value structure, routine and consistency
You are passionate about inclusive education and neurodiversity
