Key Responsibilities ASC Leadership Lead the strategic development and daily management of the ASC Base. Design and deliver a bespoke, ambitious, autism-friendly curriculum. Provide expert guidance to staff across both specialist and mainstream settings. Build strong, supportive relationships with families and external professionals. Work closely with the SENDCo to ensure accurate and timely statutory documentation, including EHCPs. Teaching & Learning Deliver highly differentiated, therapeutic teaching aligned with neurodiversity and nurture principles. Use approaches such as SCERTS, TEACCH, PECS and AAC. Track pupil progress using school assessment systems and produce high-quality reports. Lead literacy and numeracy interventions that accelerate progress for pupils with ASC. Create a calm, low-arousal learning environment that supports sensory regulation and communication. Therapeutic & Behaviour Support Role-model positive relationships, co-regulation and restorative approaches. Oversee IEPs, behaviour plans and individualised strategies. Use positive reinforcement and predictable routines to promote emotional safety. CPD & School Improvement Deliver whole-school CPD on autism and therapeutic practice. Observe lessons and provide supportive feedback to develop staff expertise. Lead improvement initiatives across the ASC Base and wider school community. Safeguarding & Compliance Maintain accurate records in line with safeguarding and data protection policies. Support safe transitions, community learning and detailed risk assessments. Promote equality, diversity and a culture of inclusion for all pupils.
