About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school on a full time, long term basis. This role involves working with pupils who have a range of additional needs, ensuring they can access learning and achieve their full potential. You will be supported by the class teacher, and will play a key part in creating a nurturing environment where every student can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting pupils with SEND (1:1, small group, and whole class settings).

  • Assisting with planning and delivering interventions and differentiated activities.

  • Helping with personal care, sensory or physical support, as required.

  • Promoting independence, confidence, positive behaviour, and emotional regulation.

  • Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, therapists, and external agencies.

  • Supporting the creation and use of visual aids, communication tools or other resources.

  • Recording and reporting pupil progress, and attending relevant meetings.

Person Specification / Requirements
We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with children with SEND in school settings

  • Is patient, resilient, adaptable, and compassionate

  • Has excellent communication skills and builds strong relationships with pupils, staff, and families

  • Can work well in a team and also use initiative when needed

  • Is committed to providing consistency and long-term support

  • Is open to training and professional development

Desirable: experience with ASC, SEMH, physical disabilities, or sensory needs, plus training in behaviour management or communication support.
