About the Role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with a variety of complex needs, including autism, communication difficulties, and sensory processing challenges. You will work closely with teachers and therapists to create a safe, engaging, and meaningful learning experience for every child.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils in the classroom with learning, communication, personal care, and sensory regulation

  • Work 1:1 or in small groups to reinforce learning and encourage independence

  • Help implement individual education and behaviour plans under the guidance of teaching staff

  • Build trusting relationships with pupils, parents/carers, and colleagues

  • Contribute to the positive, inclusive ethos of the school

What We’re Looking For:

  • A genuine passion for working with children and young people with SEN

  • Experience supporting individuals with autism or complex needs is desirable but not essential

  • A calm, patient, and positive attitude with excellent teamwork skills

  • Willingness to learn new strategies and approaches – full training provided

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils

The school provides a therapeutic, trauma-informed setting where students are supported holistically to succeed both in and out of the classroom, and the staff work with their pupils, offering wraparound support. What You'll Do: Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with Autism, Complex Needs, SLD and sensory needs and dysregulation.
