About the Role

SEND Teacher

  • September 2025 - Permanent Position
  • Year 7 - Year 13
  • Main Pay Scale (MPS)
  • Ealing, West London

As an experienced teacher, whether in mainstream or SEND, you want to deliver the very best for your students. However, sometimes your goals, standards and the impact you have are diluted by the environment in which you are working. This is a chance to change that.

This special school has worked tirelessly to build an environment that doesn’t just support the students, but also every member of staff.

As you walk into the school you can immediately feel the difference. Outdoor space is extensive, with play areas, plenty of sensory resources and even allotments, where the children learn to eat what they grow.

The buildings themselves with their high ceilings are light and airy. It feels calming and positive. A recent refurbishment has applied the finishing touches to what is an exceptional school.

The teaching staff themselves are energetic, enthusiastic and passionate about what they are creating. All are approachable and welcoming, and it is apparent they care deeply about what the school delivers for their students. This culture is shaped by a headteacher who is encouraging, supportive and hands on, resulting in a strong bond throughout the staff teams.

The children’s classes are grouped on ability rather than age, allowing teachers to find common theme in the shape of their curriculum. With an excellent Teaching Assistant to pupil ratio and superb physical resources as well, the learning experience for every student is rewarding and impactful.

The children themselves can be tactile, as you would expect in a specialist autism environment. They respond well to the empathy and patience of the teaching staff, who bring a down to earth mindset every day.

With the goal of every student not missing out on the ‘school’ experience, attention to detail has been paid. School dress code, sixth form common room and travel training to enable greater independence are examples. As well as discos, summer party and proms.

Experienced teachers joining this school are supported throughout. If you are coming from a mainstream school, your secondary experience and adapting of curriculum will be vital. Naturally SEND training is ongoing and your career journey through CPD is important to the school.
