SEND Teacher – Autism, Complex Needs & SEMH | Parker Smith Inclusion
Location: Merton
Start Date: 1st of September 2025
Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term (term time only)
Salary: M1 - UP2 - PAYE
Are you a passionate SEND Teacher with QTS looking to make a real difference in the lives of pupils with Autism, Complex Needs, and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges?
Parker Smith Inclusion is working closely with a specialist school that provides a nurturing and supportive learning environment for students with Autism, Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and Complex Social and Emotional Needs. We are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEND Teacher to lead a small class of pupils, delivering meaningful learning experiences tailored to individual needs.
The Role:

Teaching a small class of pupils with Autism, SEMH, and associated learning difficulties

Planning and delivering creative, differentiated lessons to engage and support pupils at various developmental levels

Creating a nurturing classroom environment that supports emotional regulation and promotes positive behaviour

Working closely with a multidisciplinary team, including therapists and support staff, to provide holistic care and education

Using strategies grounded in Nurture principles or similar approaches to build trust and stability
Ideal Candidate:
-
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in a SEND setting

Previous experience teaching students with Autism, Complex Needs, SLD, or SEMH

Strong understanding of emotional regulation strategies and trauma-informed practice
-
Background in Nurture groups or similar therapeutic approaches is highly desirable

Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners
