About the Role
Teaching Assistant – SLD/PMLD School | Sutton | Full-Time | Long-Term

Are you a passionate and caring individual looking to make a real difference in the lives of young people with special educational needs?
We are working in partnership with a fantastic SLD/PMLD specialist secondary school in Sutton, and they are seeking dedicated Teaching Assistants to join their team for full-time, long-term roles starting ASAP.
About the Role:
As a Teaching Assistant in this specialist setting, you will be supporting secondary-aged students with a wide range of complex needs, including:

Severe or profound learning difficulties

Mobility challenges
-
Communication and sensory needs
-
Personal care requirements
You will work closely with experienced teachers and therapists to deliver a holistic and nurturing educational experience that empowers each student to achieve their potential.
What We’re Looking For:

Experience working with children or young people with additional needs (SLD, Autism, PMLD, or similar)

A caring, patient and proactive attitude
-
Willingness to assist with personal care and mobility support - use of PECs and/or Makaton for specific needs
-
Ability to work collaboratively in a team and follow individual care and education plans

Full-time availability (Monday to Friday, school hours - 8:30am - 4pm)
