1:1 ASD Teaching Assistant - Thurrock

£85-90 PAYE Only

An Outstanding primary community school in Thurrock are seeking a bubbly, engaging and energetic 1:1 ASD Teaching Assistant to join them on a Long term/Permanent basis.

The school are very keen on individuals who want to make a difference to a child with Autism whilst also bringing along their own initiative and energy to the classroom!

What to expect working as a 1:1 ASD Teaching Assistant

  • As a 1:1 ASD Teaching Assistant you will be supporting a child in year 2 with mild Autism
  • This role would be a great fit for Graduates or someone who has real passion and enthusiasm for SEND and would like to pursue a career working with children
  • A long term contract, working for the whole academic year with the prospects of becoming a permanent member of staff
  • Continuous CPD training for all SEN Teaching Assistants, including:  Phonics, Makaton, PECs, Colourful Semantics etc
  • The ability to work in a highly supported staff team within a fantastic mainstream school
  • Gain the opportunity to make a huge difference to the social and emotional development of a SEN child as a 1:1 ASD Teaching Assistant

Requirements for a 1:1 ASD Teaching Assistant

  • A Graduate is desirable but anyone with fantastic energy and drive is key
  • Previous experience working as an 1:1 ASD Teaching Assistant however this is not essential as the child doesn’t have complex needs
  • Proactive and positive about making a difference to children’s development and wellbeing
  • Excel at building relationships with both students and staff
  • Live within commutable distance of Islington and surrounding areas

Pay

  • Long-term contracts are available for those who are looking for immediate work. We understand that pay is extremely important and it must be clear and simple! For that reason we have chosen to pay our staff via PAYE only. Quoted rates are gross pay and your pay will never involve employer's NI deductions or admin fees
  • Just as roles vary, so will the remuneration depending on the role requirements and your experience. You will often see these roles advertised as daily rates, please note that we pay PAYE only, please bear in mind that all school based work will be term time only
