Parker Smith Inclusion is proud to be working with a specialist SEMH, ASC and ADHD school in Chelmsford, which is seeking permanent Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to join their dedicated and supportive team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are passionate about helping children and young people with additional needs to thrive—both academically and personally.
About the School
Set within 11 acres of beautiful grounds, the school provides a truly unique learning environment. Students regularly take part in Forest School sessions and a wide range of outdoor activities designed to build confidence, independence and teamwork.
All pupils have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), and the school caters specifically for children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH), Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and ADHD.
Classes are small, with just six students per class, supported by a Teacher, a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) and a Learning Support Assistant (LSA), ensuring each child receives tailored support in a calm and structured environment.
Your Role as an LSA
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:
Support students on a 1:1 and small group basis, helping them engage with learning and manage their emotions and behaviour.
Work collaboratively with teachers, HLTAs and other LSAs to deliver creative and accessible learning opportunities.
Promote positive behaviour and encourage the development of social and emotional skills.
Contribute to the wider school community, including participating in outdoor learning and Forest School activities.
Build meaningful relationships with students, acting as a positive role model and trusted adult.

The Role
In this unique position, you will:
Morning: Provide 1:1 support in Reception, working closely with a child to help them engage with learning, manage their emotions, and develop key social and academic skills.
