1:1 Learning Support Assistant Location: Brixton Contract: Long term – full time Start Date: September 2025 Salary: PAYE We are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school to recruit a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to support a child in Reception with an EHCP. The child has Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), speech and language delay, and some signs of dyspraxia. They are a delightful pupil who responds well to calm, consistent guidance and support throughout the day. The ideal candidate will: Have experience or interest in supporting children with additional needs Be calm, patient, and nurturing Work closely with the class teacher, SENDCo and external professionals Support the child’s communication, motor skills and access to learning This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a child’s early education journey. The role I am seeking resilient, passionate Learning Support Assistants to join a specialist SEMH school in Croydon, South East London. All children at this school have EHCPs and have a diagnosis relating to their Social, Emotional and Mental Health. As a Learning Support Assistant, your role would consist of supporting students both inside and outside of the classroom. You would focus on breaking down barriers to young people’s learning so that they can reach their full potential. Children at this school can present with challenging behaviour, so it is vital that the successful candidate is experienced in managing difficult situations and can keep a calm, clear head in these scenarios.
