About the Role
We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school. You will be supporting a pupil with autism (ASC) on a full-time basis, following a personalised timetable designed to promote communication, independence, and social development.
This is a highly rewarding role where you can make a real difference, working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals.
Key Responsibilities

Provide consistent 1:1 support for a pupil with autism in a mainstream classroom.

Implement tailored learning activities to build communication, independence, and social skills.

Support engagement in both curriculum lessons and structured play (e.g., mark making, story time).

Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and therapists to deliver effective support.

Encourage positive peer interactions, confidence, and routine.

Promote an inclusive, nurturing, and supportive learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate

Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or SEN Support Worker.

Experience supporting children with autism and/or speech, language, and communication needs.

Ability to adapt learning activities to meet individual needs.

Patient, proactive, and committed to supporting inclusive education.

Enthusiastic about professional development and SEN career progression.
