Pay: £206.75 – £320.49 per day

About the Role
As Head of English, you will lead the vision and direction of the English department, ensuring pupils experience rich, accessible and inspiring lessons. You will work closely with therapists, SEND specialists and senior leaders to champion academic progress and emotional development across the school.
Key Responsibilities

Lead, mentor and inspire the English department

Design and deliver a differentiated curriculum suited to autistic and SEMH learners

Model high-quality, inclusive teaching practice

Track pupil progress and tailor interventions to individual needs

Work collaboratively with the SENDCo, therapy teams and senior leadership

Promote a strong reading, writing and literacy culture across the school

Create a nurturing, safe and inclusive learning environment
Ideal Candidate Profile

Experienced teaching English within autism, SEMH or wider SEND contexts

A confident leader capable of motivating teachers and support staff

Creative in planning engaging, differentiated lessons

Skilled in behaviour support and SEMH strategies
