About the Role
ASD/ADHD Teaching Assistant – Outstanding SEN Support School – Thurrock
Parker Smith Inclusion is delighted to be working with an outstanding school in Thurrock that is seeking a compassionate and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to start immediately. This role involves supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), ensuring that they receive the educational and emotional support they need to thrive.
Main Duties:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEN, focusing on ASD and ADHD needs.
- Collaborate with the classroom teacher to implement tailored educational plans, allowing each student to access the curriculum in a way that suits them best.
- Assist students with sensory processing difficulties, helping them manage their emotions and behavior during the school day.
- Help students develop social and communication skills, encouraging positive interactions with their peers and building confidence in their abilities.
- Monitor progress and work closely with the SENCO to ensure that all strategies and interventions are working effectively.

- Pay Rate: £85 - £100 per day (PAYE)

We are currently seeking a committed and adaptable Maths Teacher to join their team from September 2025. This role is available on either a permanent or temp-to-perm basis, depending on your preference.
🧮 The Role
This is a full-time teaching position delivering Mathematics across Key Stages 3 and 4. There may also be the opportunity to contribute to a second subject area, depending on your experience and interests.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated Maths lessons to small class groups (typically 6–10 pupils)
Support individual learning needs alongside teaching assistants and the wider team
Build strong, consistent relationships with pupils to foster trust, confidence, and re-engagement with learning
Manage behaviour using positive, trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches
Contribute to a second subject area (e.g. Science, PE or the Arts), if desired
Support the ongoing development of the school, with opportunities for future progression

✅ The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) with experience teaching Maths at secondary level

Strong communication and teamwork skills
Experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs or working in alternative provision (desirable but not essential)
A second subject specialism (e.g. PE, Science or Art) would be advantageous

We are currently working with a setting in Essex who are seeking a SEMH Mentor to support their young people who are not able to attend mainstream school and have SEMH needs. The children you will support will have a variety of needs which can include significant complex behaviour challenges and sometimes associated SEND. We support Education providers that educate children and young people who for many reasons cannot access any other formal educational settings – these are the most vulnerable, at risk and hard to reach in our community. Understanding their SEMH needs must be met before any academic development can happen. Understanding their SEMH needs is essential in these roles and we are seeking individuals who, as a SEMH Mentor can make a positive impact.
Requirements:
● Experience of supporting young people with SEND and/or Autism, ADHD, sensory processing difficulties and learning difficulties or experience with SEMH, Trauma, Sensory processing, social communication
● Ability to build strong and meaningful relationships
● A passion for working with SEND is essential
