About the Role

Support Worker - SEN School Based

Full-Time, ASAP Start

£85 - £100 PAYE Per Day

We are working in partnership with a lovely SEMH school located in Epping Forest. The school is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Support Worker to join their friendly and supportive team. This position is full-time (term-time only), ASAP start!

Ideal Support Worker:

  • Has experience working with children and young people with special needs
  • Has personal interests in supporting children and young people with special needs
  • A positive, proactive, and patient individual who has a can-do attitude and is willing to learn
  • A team player, confident and has great communication skills
  • Being able to build good working relationships with students and staff

Support Worker's Main Responsibilities:

  • Supporting children with SEND, complex needs, and mild to Profound Multiple Learning Difficulties (MLD/PMLD)
  • Assisting the class teacher with planning, preparing, and delivering learning activities, as well as monitoring and assessing children’s achievement and progress
  • Actively involved in a wide range of activities, promoting the physical, cognitive, cultural, social, and emotional well-being of the pupils
  • Actively interacting with children through play-based and sensory-related activities

 

Some of our students are non-verbal and with such a wide range of learning difficulties. Students are supported by a multidisciplinary team including Physiotherapists, Art Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Speech and Language Therapists. Some students may also have physical disabilities and are wheelchair users.

Being able to use Makaton (sign language) or PECs is ideal. Personal Care (feeding and toileting) and hydrotherapy are required as this is a part of the job.
