Autism Teacher (Full-Time, Long Term and Permanent)

The school is situated in the London Borough of Merton, residing in a residential area, with accessible public transport links, and has a real presence in the community. All pupils have an ECHP and this campus will cater to students with Autism and moderate learning difficulties. This campus is attached as part of a larger school catering to students with PMLD, SLD, Autism and Social and Emotional needs.

We are looking for teachers with recent and successful class teaching experience who have high expectations of what children and young people with learning disabilities and autism can achieve. Experience of teaching pupils with learning disabilities and / or autism in a special school is desirable, but our school are very supportive for any mainstream teachers looking to transition into a specialist setting. A deep understanding of trauma-informed and attachment-aware practice, and the ability to build strong, consistent relationships.
Flexibility, creativity, and a sense of humour – the journey won’t be linear, but it will be rewarding.
A genuine belief in the potential of every young person, regardless of their starting point.
This is a unique opportunity to be part of an innovative, nurturing provision that gives students a chance to reconnect with learning and begin to thrive again.
You must have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS)
