About the Role
Autism Teaching Assistant
- Therapeutic SEN school in Mole Valley, Surrey
- £95 – £110 per day (PAYE – no umbrella deductions)
- Full-time, Term-time only
- Start date: ASAP or after half-term
- Permanent contract opportunities

We are working with a specialist SEN school in the Mole Valley area that provides an outstanding, nurturing education for children and young people aged 11–19 with Autism, ADHD, and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The team takes a holistic, therapeutic approach to learning, helping pupils develop essential life skills, emotional regulation and independence.
This is a brilliant opportunity for someone kind, patient and curious about neurodiversity, whether you already have experience in a similar setting or are looking to start your career in special education.
Your Role - Autism Teaching Assistant
- Support autistic students in small classes or 1:1 sessions
- Help pupils access learning through communication support, sensory-based activities and visual strategies
- Provide personal care and assist with hydrotherapy sessions where required
- Encourage emotional regulation, confidence and positive routines
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and pastoral staff to create a consistent, supportive environment
What We’re Looking For
- Genuine empathy, patience and emotional resilience
- Experience with children or adults with Autism, ADHD or SEMH (school, youth work, care, or volunteering)
- Psychology, Education or related graduates encouraged to apply
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A caring attitude and willingness to learn
