Parker Smith Inclusion is pleased to be working in partnership with a rapidly expanding specialist school in Witham. The school caters for students aged 4 to 19 with a wide range of SEND needs, including ASC, ADHD, SEMH, SLD and students who display dysregulated behaviour. The school is proud of its nurturing ethos, individualised support plans and its commitment to transforming the lives of young people with complex needs.
We are seeking dedicated, energetic and resilient Behaviour Mentors who can build strong, trusting relationships with students and act as a consistent, positive presence throughout the school day. You will be someone who approaches challenges with empathy and patience, keeping students’ wellbeing and progress at the centre of everything you do.
Hours: 8:30am to 4:00pm
Pay: £105.76 per day (term time only)
Contract: Temp to perm
About the Role
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with students on a 1:1 or 2:1 basis depending on need. You will follow individualised learning and behaviour plans, support emotional regulation, and help students engage with learning in a safe and structured way.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Building positive and supportive relationships with students
- Helping students regulate their emotions and manage challenging moments
- Implementing personalised strategies designed by the school’s SEND and therapeutic teams
- Supporting learning activities and encouraging independence
- Working collaboratively with teachers, support staff and external professionals
- Remaining calm under pressure and maintaining a consistent, reliable approach
- Providing personal care when required
- Being flexible to support across different areas of the school when needed
This role is an essential part of the school’s holistic approach. You will be a key figure in the daily life of each student you support, contributing directly to their progress, confidence and long-term development.
