Specialist Social Emotional Mental Health School
A specialist setting based in Stratford are recruiting confident and capable Behaviour Mentors to work with students aged 11 – 16 facing barriers to learning in mainstream. Pupils may have experienced past trauma, faced adverse life experiences and/or be struggling with mental health issues like anxiety, depression and PTSD.
Pupil needs are high, and having an understanding and empathy for students struggling with their mental health is an essential quality for this role. Similarly, to have an appreciation for the ways in which students may express their needs through physically aggressive or verbally abusive behaviour is vital.
The ideal Behaviour Mentor may be/have…
- Experience working in a residential or SEMH setting
- Experience working with young people struggling with their mental health
- Understanding of appropriate boundaries and procedure in schools
- Passionate about giving all students the opportunity to succeed academically
