A welcoming primary school in Pinner with a dedicated resourced provision for pupils with autism and associated learning difficulties is looking for a Behaviour Support Assistant to join their supportive SEN team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone experienced in behaviour support, autism provision, SEN settings or primary education.

Role Overview

As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will help pupils with autism and additional learning needs to regulate, engage and access structured learning. Working closely with teachers, SEN leads and pastoral staff, you will play a key role in improving behaviour, communication and classroom participation.

Key Duties

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group behaviour support for pupils with autism and communication needs

  • Follow personalised behaviour plans and support emotional regulation throughout the day

  • Assist with transitions, routines and engagement in classroom activities

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff and pastoral teams

  • Promote independence, positive behaviour strategies and consistent boundaries

  • Support delivery of interventions linked to pupils’ EHCP outcomes

  • Maintain a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment
