About the Role

Behaviour Support Assistant PRU

Hackney 

£100 - £120 Per Day PAYE! Depending on experience 

If you are a resilient person who is looking for a new, challenging role supporting young people with behaviour and social, emotional and mental health needs, then this is the role for you!

We are working with a PRU (Pupil Referral Unit) based in central London that are seeking passionate and resilient behaviour support assistants to join their experienced team. The school offers education to students in primary through to secondary who may be on a short-term or longer-term placement as they are not able to attend mainstream education. This will be due to their challenging behaviour, social, emotional and mental health needs and can be other additional needs.

PRU Behaviour Support Assistant role;

  • Supporting students with challenging behaviour and social, emotional and mental health needs
  • Class sizes will be no more than 6 students
  • Working 1:1 and within small groups
  • Supporting young people with their learning needs
  • Building strong and meaningful relationships

PRU Behaviour Support Assistant Requirements;

  • To have previous school or relevant experience supporting challenging behaviour
  • To be resilient and passionate about helping young people succeed
  • If you have a passion for sports, music or other interests, this can be welcomed into the role
  • To be flexible and willing to help support across the school in primary and secondary if needed

SEN Teaching Assistant North London Immediate Start and September 2025 Are you a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant who is not feeling fulfilled in your role because of the lack of support and opportunities? Arriving at the specialist SEND school, you will instantly feel at ease with the welcoming staff and warm environment. The school caters for students in Early Years to Key Stage 2 for children with complex needs. Pastoral Mentor Hackney Full Time - Long term Are you passionate about supporting young people with behavioural, social, emotional and mental health needs? We are working with a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) based in Central London that caters for students from primary to year 11 across two sites,. The school provides short- and long-term placements for young people unable to attend mainstream education due to behavioural, social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, as well as additional diagnoses such as ASC and ADHD. They are seeking an experienced Pastoral Support Mentor to join their team, delivering 1:1 and small group mentoring interventions to students in Key Stage 3. The ideal candidates will already have experience mentoring and supporting young people with behavioural, social and emotional needs. Key Responsibilities: Deliver targeted intervention and mentoring sessions to support emotional well-being and behaviour. Build positive relationships to help students develop resilience and coping strategies. Work with staff and external agencies to create personalised support plans. Monitor progress and encourage engagement in learning. Requirements: Experience working with young people with SEMH needs or in a PRU/SEN setting. Previous experience mentoring students and delivering interventions Strong communication and behaviour management skills. Understanding of trauma-informed practice and restorative approaches.
