Job Summary

We are looking for a dedicated Classroom Nurture Assistant to support children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, as well as Autism, ADHD, and associated learning difficulties. This role is ideal for someone with patience, empathy, and a passion for helping pupils overcome barriers to learning. It is a full-time, term-time only position with the opportunity to secure a permanent contract after two successful terms.

About the Role

As an Classroom Nurture Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to provide individual and small-group support. You will help pupils manage their emotions, develop social skills, and access the curriculum in a supportive and structured environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored one-to-one and group support to pupils with SEMH needs

  • Assist with behaviour management, using de-escalation strategies where appropriate

  • Support both academic progress and social development

  • Build strong, positive relationships with students to encourage confidence and resilience

  • Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, Autism, ADHD, or behavioural needs (desirable but not essential)

  • Calm, patient, and empathetic approach to behaviour management

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Flexible, proactive, and committed to pupil well-being

  • A genuine interest in helping students achieve their full potential
